So on Tuesday we went to Utah for Joel get to some Manager Training classes.. So he was in Salt Lake while the boys and i were in Mountain Green.. The day was good so far.. Papa came to Debbie's (where we were staying to get ready) to pick us up so we could get some LUNCH!! Yumm... And we went to Micky Dee's.. After that we went on Base to run some errands with Papa.. Well after all the running around we went to Papa's to wash his CARS!! He made a deal with us.. We could swim in his hot tub if we would help him.. So we did.. the boys got in there suits and i borrowed some shorts.. While we were dying Car #2.. Brakken was laying on the driveway.. From a far he looked like he was wiggling around.. But when i called his name i realized he was not playing around.. The look in his eyes was GONE!! He had a glaze over them. He looked like a bad spirit took over his body. i picked him up.. Calling his name.. He didn't respond.. He was making really weird sounds.. He was shaking and jerking around as i held him.. The thoughts that were running through my mind were that i have read about this and seen it on TV about kids never snapping out of this kind of state.. he wouldn't come out.. I was terrified that i would never have him back.. My papa called 911.. Then i was crying uncontrollably while i thought i was loosing my son.. My papa told me to come inside.. I was holding him, while i kept calling his name.. He didn't look at me.. i said a prayer that he would be OK, and that i would have my baby boy back.. the tears kept rolling down my face as Papa asked me if he was breathing.... He was.. That was one think that i was for sure of.. Brakken was breathing and it was so HARD and HEAVY.. His lips were going blue as he kept shaking.. It felt like this was going on forever.. By the time the Ambulance got to my Papa's house he had stopped the shaking and now he was not there.. he was not responding to me.. He was kinda looking around.. But very slow.. Before the Ambulance showed up i had to call Joel so he could meet us at the hospital.. We had about 7 men and one women in the front room all around Brakken.. Madden was freaking out too.. He saw the terror in my eyes and knew something was wrong. They hooked Brakken up to some Oxygen. And were talking to him.. i don't really remember what was going on when they showed up.. I kinda got a feeling of relief when they got there.. But did they get there to late.. They had told me that Brakken had a SEIZURE!!! That it was probably from having a fever.. But to me he didn't feel WAY hot, just kinda warm.. Nothing that i felt i would need to take his temp.. So we got in the Ambulance while they asked me about what happened.. I cried every time.. Cuz i was not by him.. i didn't know if he fell to the ground or if he laid down.. I felt like i was a failure.. I could have helped him from having a seizure.. I'm supposed to protect him.. The whole time in the Ambulance the Lady was touching him and talking really loud so he could hear her.. but he didn't really respond til we were close to the hospital.. He was looking at me and telling me he didn't want to wear this oxygen mask.. We got to the hospital.. He was more alert now looking around.. He looking tired.. and i noticed the glaze from his eyes were gone.. They hooked him to machines.. Then when Joel got there they needed to take his blood and give him a Cat Scan.. I was so worried that they might find something in his brain... They got back to us and then.. Nothing!! They called it a FEBRILE seizure.. It happens to kids from 6 months to 8 years.. If the fever gets to high it can put them into a seizure.. Scary.. I know.. But Brakken seizure only lasted about 2-3 Minutes.. If anyone has a seizure you need to protect time from hurting themselves.. You don't HOLD them.. i know now what to do.. They told us we need to get him a EEG test done.. Which is where they monitor your brain to see if it was something other than a fever to set off the seizure.. He is home now.. And we have to watch him close to be there if another seizure comes.. His fever is gone and now he is back to his TALKATIVE self.. I asked him questions to see if he remembers riding in the Ambulance or being at the hospital.. He only remembers the Papa said they could get in the HOT TUB.. and now he can't... And he also remembers my mom getting there.. She got there when we were signing release forms... So he doesn't know why he was in the ER.. i hope he never remembers.. But this is us back at Papa's with his new animal named Ambulance.. They gave him this dog in the Ambulance.. i know very creative.. not really..
He is BACK!! Thank HEAVENS.. Yesterday our friend came over to help give Brakken a blessing.. Stronger in Numbers.. right?? i wanted to thank all the family that was supporting us while this happened.. I really am grateful to have people around me that care.. We love you.. Thanks.
